No Time To Pray

By K. J. Koshy

I knelt to pray but not for long,I had too much to do.I had to hurry and get to work For bills would soon be due. So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,And jumped up off my knees. My Christian duty was now done My soul could rest at ease. All day long I had no time To spread a word of cheer. No time to speak of Christ to friends, They'd laugh at me I'd fear. No time, no time, too much to do,That was my constant cry, No time to give to souls in need But at last the time, the time to die.I went before the Lord, I came, I stood with downcast eyes. For in his hands God held a book ;It was the book of life. God looked into his book and said" Your name I cannot find. I once was going to write it down... But never found the time"

Very good. I think "I don't have the time" is probably the biggest excuse people give. I know I have used it. Thank you for reminding us.

I have a friend that always inspires me in this area. She prays all the time--while working, driving, etc--just constantly talks to God. That is one thing I've been working on--trying to thank Him through out the day and pray more constantly!

This is one of my aunt's favorite inspirational poems. Her copy was damaged in a flood summer 2006. So she asked me to type it on my computer and give her a fresh new copy. I was happy to comply.

Great blog today! Thanks for your comment on my blog. I saw it before Charlotte accidently erased it. Hope you are having a great Sunday!

What thought provoking post! I am sure that we are all guilty of not having time to pray, but just let some problem come up and we have plenty of time to pray!

Thank you for sharing.

What a wonderful reminder Ginger. I am a constant prayer warrior, especially when I'm in my car. Years ago I decided I would shut off my radio and talk with God.

Thank you for the great inspirationg Ginger.

I hope you have a sunny Sonday!

I have seen this over and over, but it is always a good read to remind us we need to spend more time with God.
