A Bus Ride

Posted by Ginger~~Enchanting Cottage

  I babysit two of our grandchildren every Thursday and I like to do different things with them so they can have fun. This past Thursday I decided to take the on a bus ride around our city. I have never been on a bus around town before,I never had any reason to ride the bus. It was so interesting to see  all the different people who got on the bus. I was wandering what their story was. This bus ride humbled me,and my heart went out to the people who don't have a choice between riding the bus or driving their car.

Matthew 7:1-2

“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.

Expect

 Reflect on God's goodness.
Be thankful for all He's given.
Be joyful and at peace. Always be
in a state of expectancy, and see
that you leave room for God to

Winter 2011 Cover

There are so many times when I'm in the mood to read a domestic magazine but while I'm doing so I'm thinking that I should be reading my Bible or at least a devotional. I just found this magazine the other day and was so excited. It has some great articles that are Christian based and they have guest writers and some amazing testimonies, they also have recipes and decorating ideas.  There is a calendar to help you read the Bible in a year.I just wanted to share this with everyone because I think that you may enjoy it as much as I did.

      I just love going to Arizona to visit Clif and Charlotte, they have such  amazing hospitality one can sure get spoiled there. I'm so glad I'm a part of this wonderful family, thank-you Clif and Charlotte for opening up your home to us.

   I hope that you have time to visit other blogs this weekend,thank-you for stopping by my blog today. Please stop by Spiritual Sunday for other links to some great bloggers.

How Does Your Garden Grow

Posted by Ginger~~Enchanting Cottage

                I'm reading a book called Intimate Conversations, Devotions to Nurture a Woman's Soul by Alicia Britt Chole
In one of the chapters she describes our spiritual life's as a garden and ask to describe your current condition.
So how is your spiritual life.

  • newly planted
  • recovering from pesticides
  • nurtured
  • forgotten
  • weedy
  • fruitful
  • in need of attention
  • bug infested
  • ready for something new
  • covered in manure
  • embarrassing
  • dry
  • poorly guarded
  • postcard material
After ready this chapter it made be realize that I have God in my life but I need to make him the center of my life.
Please stop by Spiritual Sunday this weekend and read some wonderful blogs, and don't forget to stop by the Prayer blog and pray for those who need our prayers.

200 year old Oak Trees

Pearls for the Soul
By Richard Alan Naggar

When we long for life without difficulties,
 remind us that oaks grow
 strong in contrary winds,
 and diamonds are made under pressure
~~~~~
Good timber does not grow with ease.
The stronger the wind, the stronger
the tree.
~~~~~

Isaiah 41:10

10 So do not fear, for I am with you;
   do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
   I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

I hope that you have the time to visit Spiritual Sunday and read some very inspiring post. Also even if your not a part of Spiritual Sunday please stop by our Prayer blog and pray for those who have asked for prayers.

Time To Grow

Posted by Ginger~~Enchanting Cottage

When our first grandson was a toddler one of his favorite places to eat was McDonald's, I didn't think he would every grow out of McDonald's. He is now 7 and his favorite place to eat is In and Out. He has matured  enough to know that In and Out has a much better hamburger and is more filling, and satisfying  than McDonald's. McDonald's was good and had it's purpose but time changes things. I feel like the church we go to is like a McDonald's and we need to mature into a In and Out.  we need to grow and were not growing because nobody likes McDonald's anymore, they want In and Out.

    Our church is having a meeting tomorrow the second one of two,please pray for this meeting and our church. We are loosing good families and are not getting any new families, our church has stopped growing. I apologize for the analogy of a hamburger place compared to our church but as serious as this matter is I thought it was the best way  I could explain. Thank-you for your prayers for our church.

singing birds           Please stop by Spiritual Sunday and read some amazing post, I promise you they all don't talk about McDonald's and In and Outs.

Treasure in Nature

Posted by Ginger~~Enchanting Cottage

 Sunset with flowers in the foreground.

If we are children of God,we have
a tremendous treasure in nature
and will realize that it is holy and
sacred. We will see God reaching
out to us in every wind that blows,
every sunrise and sunset, every
cloud in the sky,every flower that
blooms, and every leaf that fades.
