Do Not Worry

Posted by Ginger~~Enchanting Cottage

With the economy the way it is and so many people loosing there jobs, homes, and cars, my heart goes out to them. I just wanted to write these scripture for everyone. Some may have read these many of times and it will be a first time for others. After you read this please pray for someone in need.

Matthew 6: 25-34

25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
28"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

I really need to be reminded that God will take care of all our needs. It seems that each month is long on the bills but short on funds. however, in spite of my worrying, God comes through for me each and every month.

Love it Ginger! I really feel that God guided me to do Financial Peace University last year. There really is something to being able to take a breath and know that you have made wise choices with your moeny and not being a slave to the lender.

Thank you for that timely post.

Very beautiful and so true. Material items are just that "material"~ what's important is the love of family & friends and sharing the lives of all those.

Ginger, those are my favorite Bible verses! I read that passage many times when we going through the deepest valley of our lives 5 years ago. God is good. He saw us through it and brought us to a place we could have never imagined.

I feel the same way...so many are just not able to make ends meet. Bill and I are on Social Security and it is getting harder and harder to get our bills paid, pay for meds, gas, groc.....we live pretty close, I'll tell you but am very thankful that we CAN get the bills pd. Some just can't do it.
Where the heck would we be if we didn't have God walking beside us?

Ginger, your posting reminded be of a hymn we sing in church quite often. In part it says "Be not afraid, I go before you always. Always at your side." This has stood me in good stead through the dark times in my life and I am sure it will continue to do so.

Had a great holiday and now I am catching up with everyone.

God bless.
