Faith

Over the past two weeks I have not truly been myself. I ask for prayers and I want to thank-you. Our home was broken into a couple of weeks ago and it seems like each day I find something else they took. Someone ask me if it makes me question my faith. I was shocked, as this never even entered my mind. No matter what happens to me it will never affect my faith.

John 10:10

10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

I just wanted to let you know that I will be working this weekend Saturday and Sunday. My husband will be home reading Spiritual Sundays although he does not comment on them he does enjoy reading them. I will try hard to visit everyone. This has been a long week for me. I was so undecided on what to post about this weekend. My mind has been across the board with different emotions. This could be one reason why I have posted later than normal. I just thought that I would share this verse that has been on my heart this week.

My Husband and I took the Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University class that our church offered. We loved this class and enjoy Dave Ramsey's teaching technique's very much he is a funny man. I don't think we have ever laugh so hard in a church class room as we have watching these videos. Although this class is not meant to be funny it's just kinda nice to be able to laugh even though the topic is so serious. If you have been thinking about taking this class I would recommend it,my husband and I both have enjoyed it.

Simple Pleasures

I am joining in on Simple Pleasures today, every Thursday this nice lady takes the time to do this meme. It is one that I love but not always able to join in. So please click HERE and join in on the fun.

I just love the simple pleasure that I get when I am in my home.One of my favorite things that I love about our home and brings me simple pleasures is that I can look out any window in any room of our home and see nothing but green. We planted shrubs all around our property years ago and we know enjoy our hard work. It puts a smile on my face every time I look out one of my windows. We enjoy it so much that we decided not to put up window coverings.
This is truly a simple pleasure for me.

Growing Old

One of my prayers is that my husband and I can grow old in our home together. That we can take care of each other and not have to depend on other people. I pray that we will be healthy, strong in strength and Strong in the Lord as we grow old.

Life Style's


Over the last year or so I have been trying not to shop as much. I have been trying to just buy the needs of our home not the wants. This is not easy for me and it is something that I have to pray about all the time. As I sit and drink my coffee and ponder over the last year and how the Lord has worked in my life is amazing. I can't remember the last time I went shopping, I can't even remember the last time I had the desire to go shopping. It has taken me a long time to realize that there is a bigger picture. In my heart I don't feel that it's right to pray about finances and ask to be guided in that area and then go and spend fifty dollars a month on getting my nails done, I needed my action to be towards my daily prayers and the Lord has blessed me by doing so. The other day my husband broke our lamp(by mistake)and I thought to myself OH~~~~I get to go buy a new lamp because this one broke, needless to say I was kinda excited about shopping for a lamp because after all it was a need. Well the Lord reminded me of my prayers and after a week of looking at the lamp I went to the drawer and got out the super glue and long and behold our lamp is as good as new.


Dear Lord, I want to thank you with all of my heart for guiding me in this new life style, I love it. I pray that maybe someone else will have this same prayer Lord and that you can guide them Lord in making changes in their life,it just takes small changes and then it becomes so big Lord. Lord I want to thank-you for our new roof that we put on our home, if my life style had not change we would not of be able to get our new roof.


Thank-you with all my heart

A Rainbow

On Thursday there was the most amazing double rainbow in the sky. It was probable one of the top 5 most beautiful things that I have seen. On one side of the sky where the rainbow was it had this amazing glow it was so strong even the inside of our home had a glow to it ,and on the other side of the sky it was so blue it looked like a blue marker had just colored half the sky. It was hot and then it started to rain. Then on Friday, the Lord shared another beautiful rainbow with us.


Genesis 9:13-16

12 And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth."

A Book To Read
September 25,2010


I read Sarah's book In The Eye of Deception . This book touched my heart. After reading this book I think differently about the people I see on the streets, or anywhere for that matter. I think about their story, is their story like Sarah's. Working in the public it is hard sometimes not to judge,I have been guilty of this in the past. We don't know their situations, we don't know what they have been through or what they are going through now. Sarah was blessed because the Lord was there for her when she just could not go anymore. Other people may not be as blessed as Sarah, they just may be getting deeper and deeper into a dark world.
They need our prayers to lift them up to the Lord. God bless you Sarah and may the Lord continue to be with you. You can click on the picture to read more about Sarah's book.

My life has been so busy, I'm not real sure why or what has changed. Sometimes I stay home from church just so I can get things done that I don't have time for during the week.I'm not proud to say this to everyone, but this does happen to me more than it should. I may as well tell the Lord, I'm sorry but I'm to busy today to go worship you.
I need to slow down, I need to make my days less busy, I need to be still and know that God is there.

Charlotte and I are so excited about all the new things with Spiritual Sunday, I love each and everyone of you. During my days at work I often think about how everyone is doing.I'm so glad the Lord has put each of you in my life, thank-you.

Simple Thursday

I'm so excited to be a part of Simple Pleasures today. With the way the economy has been over the last couple of years I seem to notice these simple pleasure more often. Please join in on all the fun just go to the blog A Collection of this and that and join in.


One of my favorite things that touch my heart is when I have my kitchen window open and there is a breeze. I love when the wind blows my lace curtains. I have a small wind chime there as well so I here the small sweet sound of the chimes in my window as well. It just puts a smile on my face. Thank-you Dayle for this wonderful way to mingle.

Miracle Party for Collette

A Happy Heart

I came across this story and I enjoyed it, I hope that you do too.

The 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud lady, who is fully dressed each morning by eight o'clock, with her hair fashionably coifed and makeup perfectly applied, even though she is legally blind, moved to a nursing home today.

Her husband of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary.

After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, she smiled sweetly when told her room was ready. As she maneuvered her walker to the elevator, I provided a visual description of her tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on her window.

"I love it," she stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy.

"Mrs. Jones, you haven't seen the room .... just wait."

"That doesn't have anything to do with it," she replied.

"Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged ... it's how I arrange my mind.

I already decided to love it ... It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do. Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open I'll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I've stored away ... just for this time in my life."

Aging THIS IS NOT ME

Deuteronomy 5:33
33 Walk in all the way that the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.

12 "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.

14 And if you walk in my ways and obey my statutes and commands as David your father did, I will give you a long life."


I have noticed that I have been getting grey hair, it seems to just come in over night. Each day I see yet another streak of grey. I don't think of myself as vain, nor do I like spending money on my hair. Although I do care about my appearance I think of myself as very frugal and the price of getting my hair done or even the time to do it myself is just not worth it to me. I told my husband that I refuse to let society make me feel like I have to die my hair.


A lady at my church told me this, It's not about going grey it's about having the confidence to do so.

As I read scriptures on aging I think of it as a blessing to even be able to live long enough to have grey hair.

Lord thank-you for all the days of my life and for all the days ahead of me Lord. Thank-you for making me a woman who puts you first. Lord I want to thank-you for the two beautiful grey haired women in my life Lord that's Charlotte and my mother in law, they put you first Lord and their beauty comes with in. Thank-you for letting them be mentors to me.

Being A Proverbs Woman

I have always enjoyed being domestic and enjoyed making a home for my family.

One of my prayers are that my husband and I can grow old in our home, that I can be domestic and take care of my husband the way the Lord would want me to as I grow old. I do need to add that I am so blessed to have a husband who helps with everything, although I do enjoy being domestic working full time tends to make me a bit behind on things, that's where my wonderful husband comes along.

Another prayer of mine is that our granddaughter will have the desire to love the Lord and to be a proverbs women as well. I pray that I can set examples for her, as I'm the only woman in her life that lives for the Lord.

Last week I posted a song by the West Ladies, well as the week went I looked at their web page. They have different domestic DVDs for sale for example how to make bread, sew, make soap, candles. I bought one on how to make things with different herbs from the garden. I received this video already and it truly put a smile on my face. My husband even enjoyed watching and learning all the different things to make. Here is the link just in case you are interested, Blessings.

Today is Friday and we have had our granddaughter since Wednesday so needless to say I'm tired. My wonderful mother in law and sister in law are here also to help while we are at work, our home is full. So I have had little time to think of a post this weekend so I decide to do one thats just kinda fun and light hearted.

Reflections

The morning time is by far my favorite time of day. I love having that hour before work to enjoy a conversation and coffee with my best friend, my husband. Every morning at the same time I pour my coffee and get my cream out of the refrigerator. One morning this past week I saw a reflection of our lace curtains on our refrigerator. I have never noticed this before so it took me by surprise, the reflection was beautiful. It made me think about what kind of reflection do I have as a person, is it beautiful, is it Christ like? Do people know I have Jesus in my life or are they taken by surprise when they find out? I want to have the reflection of the Lord when people see me, I want my light to shine.

Matthew 5:14-16

14"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

The Gate is Narrow
June 18, 2010

This past week we had a couple of estimates on a new roof, we still need to get one more estimate. It is always so hard for me to choose just one person out of the three because they all seem so nice, and I'm sure with the economy they would all like to have the job. I wish I could hire them all, but It's a one man job.

We all want to go to Heaven but like the scripture says in Matthew 7:13 the gate is narrow. This scripture scares me so! Will my family and I be chosen to go to Heaven. The Lord wants us all but we know that it's not going to be that way . We all try to do the best job that we can but is our job good enough? Are our credentials good enough? Is just believing good enough?
I want to wish my husband a happy fathers day and thank-you so much for being such wonderful papa for our grandchildren, I love growing old with you.

Calming My Nerves
June 12, 2010


I feel that the Lord has blessed me in a powerful way by being able to have a job. I have had the same job for over 31 years. Times are changing, the job is changing, the people are changing, there are lots of changes and I'm sure that I'm changing too. Sometimes I feel like it's a little more than I can handle and my nerves take a beating. I have never prayed so hard about my job over the past year, it is the ONLY thing that gets me by. The only thing that I can think of that's not changing and will not change and that's the book the Lord provided for us the BIBLE. A firm foundation for our lives that will never change, it brings peace to me knowing this. Psalms 23 is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible. It truly calms my nerves.

The Beauty In Front of Our Eyes

I drive down this street almost everyday, I'm always amazed at the beauty of all the mountains around where we live. As I was driving I looked to the side at the perfect time and saw this breath taking church with this beautiful mountain in the background. Everyday I look to see what special view God is going to let me see. I always thank the Lord for all of his beauty and then on this one special day he let me see this. Of course I didn't have my camera on this day, but I took this picture at 6:30 this morning.


My heart goes out to all the families that have lost loved ones serving our Country, I pray that the Lord will give you comfort always.

Being Content


I have a goal for this next year, well OK maybe it's more of a dream! My husband has enough time in his work that he could retire,but in reality he is not really ready to stay home 7 days a week. My dream is for both of us to work only 4 days a week instead of 5. In doing so we would have a tremendous cut in pay. So I think to myself what could I do without to achieve this dream. Would I be able to pay my bills, buy food, gas. I would have to take the meaning of content to a whole new level.

Philippians 4:11-13
11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
