Growing Old
October 22,2010

One of my prayers is that my husband and I can grow old in our home together. That we can take care of each other and not have to depend on other people. I pray that we will be healthy, strong in strength and Strong in the Lord as we grow old.

Psalm 20:4
4 May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.

In Jesus name I will agree with your prayer Ginger. The garden with the little wooden seat looks like where Jesus would sit to wait and talk with you. Lovely. xxxx

I think you've got a long way to go but I'm adding my prayers to this too. ☺☺

I hope and pray for that for you too, Ginger. I'm so thankful we are able to stay in our home and have enough money to live as well as we need to, maybe "weller". Of course we're not old yet, LOL
Hugs & blessings,
Charlotte

What a wonderful prayer. My in laws have been in their home for almost 70 years. They are just now declining and needing help, but what a blessing to be in their own home.

That is my prayer for me and my husband, too. My dad so wanted to be the one to take care of my mom as she grew worse with Alzheimer’s. He did his very best until he unexpectedly got cancer and died within a few short months. Then my mom went downhill so fast and died 7 months later. It’s been a rough year for us kids! But I thank the Lord that when all was said and done, they only had 7 months without each other. So what’s been a hardship to us in losing them both so close together, ended up being a blessing for them.

And, I agree with you in Jesus' name! It sure feels like it's coming faster than I ever expected.

Thanks for sharing, Ginger!

Ginger,

This is my first time commenting as well as visiting your lovely blog.

I think this is a beautiful prayer, and it is also something that I pray for as well. However, I also pray that when the time comes that the Lord will help me to be content in widowhood (that's a hard one to swallow).

Blessings,

-Lady Rose

Ginger,
That is a wonderful prayer and one we all share. :) It is truly heartbreaking to see elderly people is such dire physical condition and having to depend on others for their basic needs.
