Dear Ginger. Last week you mentioned fear connected with this verse. Yes, there are those who need to fear. But most of the time they don't. You on the other hand need to rest in the promises of God. For example 1 John 1:7 tells us if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son purifies us from all sin. We are constantly cleansed from all sin. We do sin but we do not persist in sin. I want you to know the joy and peace of the Lord. And then those who are not walking with Him will think seriously about it. God bless you as you live for him--in peace, not fear.
I just read Clif's comment. He said what I wanted to say but he says it better so I'll just say "ditto". Hope you're feeling OK after your ordeal. Root canals are no fun. I've had a few. Tell Wayne Happy Father's Day.
Hugs,
Charlotte
Ginger, Happy weekend to you and your family this Father's Day. I want to share a promise that settled the question of eternity for me. "If we confess our sins, He [Jesus] is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9
Bless you!
HI Ginger....I would have a hard time choosing one of the three too. As for being chosen into the Kingdom...I always feel your beautiful spirit in your comments to me and in your posts here....I have no doubt when He looks at you...He smiles with the love of a true father to His child. Stay strong. Sarah
This is a thought provoking post...I would say that the Bible tells us clearly that If we believe that Jesus Christ is our Savior we will be saved. I guess I do not worry and agree with what Clif said....Much to think about.
God bless.
I like how you ended your post with words of endearment for your husband. So sweet!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend together... God bless.
Dear Ginger - I agree with Clif. 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and self-control. Ginger, the truth is none of us can never be "good enough", but Jesus paid the ultimate price for our sins. It is by grace we are saved and God is able to keep that which we have committed unto Him against that day.
Blessings to you and I hope you have a quick recovery from your root canal.
I agree with Cliff and the others, Ginger. We are saved by grace and faith, not by works. I just posted a wonderful devotional by Charles Spurgeon about Eternal Life and salvation. Blessings ~
Hello Ginger,
We were saved by Grace.
And that happened BEFORE we ever sinned.
All that is required, is that, we believe in Jesus. That we Believe He came to earth, and that He died for our sin's.
If we truely believe that with all our whole heart, then we are saved.
Of course we may slip and fall! When we love someone and we hurt them, we always say sorry don't we? Well, its the same when we do something wrong. We ask His forgiveness. Then because God loves us in return, He does forgives us.
John 3:16 says it all.
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son.
So that IF you believe in Him...YOU will NOT perish, but have EVERLASTING LIFE..."
AND THATS A PROMISE!!
Get a modern version of a New Testament and read it for yourself...its so easy...
He loves you......As you truely experience His love you won't believe how wonderful you feel.
Dear Ginger, Thank you for sharing so honestly. I pray you'll find peace today. No--our credentials aren't good enough. But that's why God sent Christ. His grace is for all through faith. Thank You, Lord!
Have a blessed Sunday! Janet
I hope you are feeling much better after your root canal. I agree with Janet's comment above.
Good discusion.
I have to say I agree with all. It is not by works that we are saved. Gal 2:16... As for your Fear of that scripture, I suggest reading the scriptures before and after, what was the writer talking about in that chapter. It might give you a different picture.
Be Blessed
Dear Ginger:
Your blog gets more beautiful with each post. Your heart is lovely too. I know you and I will be in Heaven together; not because of us, but because of our wonderful Jesus!
Ginger,
It is true that the gate is narrow. Actually, it is as narrow as the width of a person...and that person is Jesus Christ. He is the gate, and through Him we can enter into all God's promises...including the promise of heaven.
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. Heb. 10:23
Hi--we just replaced the roof at spindle cottage--I don't have a picture ot the new roof. We went with a heavier tile which is supposed to last 30 years. However if we have a hurricane it won't! They did a great job on the roof as far as we can tell, but the gutters are another story. Where they have joints, they leak like crazy in a heavy rain--they must have done something wrong....my husband is going to try to fix them....rather than call them back....but really he should probably call them I guess. I wish you wisdom in picking a roofer. We did find the estimates were much better now than they were 3 years ago!! Ps. Thanks for the comment on the spindlecottage blog.
No, nothing we can do is good enough. But,Praise God when we are saved by relying on Jesus ' finished work on the cross . He looks at us & sees what Jesus has done as substitution for our sin .Then we become Good enough , but never by our own merit.
He is Faithful & True & he is able to keep us all, if the Transaction of Salvation has taken place ,then believe it , reckon it so in your own mind .
Blessings,
~Myrna
Hello Dear Ginger,
Matthew 7:13 is one of my favorite passages. No not one of us is and will ever be good enough. Our Saviour paid the full price for you and I at the cross. So now we simply walk in His finished work living for Him and loving Him with all our heart, soul, and mind.:o)
A lovely post my friend. Enjoy a lovely rest of the week.
Smiles...
Beverly
Hello Ginger, I just happened upon your blog and I am so thankful I did, it is simply BEAUTIFUL and very meaningful too. It touches my heart and I will be one of your newest followers. This blogging and making new friendships and sharing about Christ is one of the best things I have done this past year... I had been undecided before over how to postt and what to say and how to get comments, now I just try to be me, a follower of Jesus Christ every moment of my day and a Wife Mom and working artist. At 1st I wanted to only show my craft but it has changed greatly, God has changed me and now most all my post are about livig life while following HIM with my family.. God has truly blessed me in my art but it seems so not important in the big scale of HIM...Did I make any sense at all??? I do hope so don't want to scare anyone off, :0)
Blessings and Hugs Dena a Cali girl in Iowa where the corn grows .
I simply want to make some special friends along the blogging way
I'm joining in with everyone else. I'm going to spend eternity in heaven. Why? Because of my faith in Jesus Christ. He makes it clear that it is not by works or deeds that we are saved, but by His shed blood on the cross. It is the one thing I am confident of! What a gift we have been given!
