Today is my first Monday posting for My Cottage Monday, you can click on the picture on my sidebar to see some beautiful cottages.

About 4 years ago, way before the economy is what it is my husband and I made the decision to renovate our home. The pictures below are the before and then right below is the after picture that is taken in the same location. I hope you enjoy my little tour of what I call our cottage.

Ginger, your new entrance is really beautiful...to enlarge an entry way is something most people don't do, yet its a big selling point. Being in real estate for over 30 years, I learned what really matters, and its often the "central" entry and the kitchen...no shock there! We are still debating on doing something with our galley kitchen...boy, would I love to have an island...but the inner nudgings say save, save, save...so I'll settle for new countertops! Looking forward to your next redo!

Ticking and Toile

wow Ginger! your house is gorgeous! I love love love everything you've done!!!!

Yes! you could totally make your own slipcovers even w/ limited sewing experience. I really haven't made much before making these ... I'm talking a few little girl skirts w/ elastic waistbands (no zippers etc) and that's about it. It's a lot of work but really worth it in order to transform a piece of furniture. BUT I see white slipcovered? sofas in your great room? ? ?
