Believe in God

Posted by Ginger~~Enchanting Cottage

I had my post almost ready for today, but when I read Charlotte's opening for Spiritual Sunday I had the need to change it. My heart aches for the people in our Country. Do these people know the bible, have they read the scriptures? What scares me is that just like this blog on Spiritual Sunday I came across some that were atheist. I came across it by mistake, and could not get out of it fast enough, or should I have wrote something, did I not do what I was called to do? I know now that I should have wrote some of these scriptures below.

Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

John 8:12
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness

Proverbs 16:3
Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.

James 1:6
But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
I hope that you will visit more Spiritual Sundays HERE
God Bless,
Ginger

Aww, Ginger all my favorite quotes. I sometimes wonder how people can look around them and not believe.

God bless.

And what a sad reality that there are still many out there who think they are living the best this life offers. But this is not life. Thank you for sharing those verses and I pray someone, even one, who doesn't know Jesus' gift will come by and be enlightened. God bless you.

I'd get off of there asap, sugar. They'll pull you down before you can lift them up. Just be extra careful or you'll get things you wish you hadn't. I avoid any negative sights at all costs, sweetpea.

Hi Ginger,
I too was touched by Charlotte's post today, and now I am so touched by your post.

I have found in my own life that when I find something that is so wonderful I always want to share it with others. But am now finding out that this wonderful free gift of eternal salvation that we as believers have is being thrown back in our face, and that just breaks my heart.
I certainly have been given a lot to meditate on this week, and I thank you for sharing your heart.
Blessings,
Sue

Hi Ginger,
The day is now here when 'they call good evil and evil good.' How sad that most do not even realize. If ever the Church needed to pray, it is now. Thank you for sharing all the scripture verses. "Help us, dear Lord, to walk as Your children, full of light and grace so that we may be a testimony of Your goodness in this dark world."
Have a wonderful Sunday.

Blessings,
Sandi

I'm afraid we have lost our sense of urgency when it comes to sharing the gospel with those who are lost. For some reason we feel that everybody will eventually be saved regardless. Since Christ is the only way, we need to get the message out. Thank you for your concern and reminding us of these Scriptures.

I agree with the other comments that have been made here. It is indeed a sad time in our world, but also a very glad time when we think of all the people who are becoming Christians and following Him.We need to pray like we've never prayed before. We must remember that God is always in control and his will will be done.
Blessings,
Charlotte

Ginger, thank you so much for sharing these scriptures (some of my favorites as well) and for spiritual sundays. I am so excited about discovering this. I agree with everyone else on this. NOW we must be more diligent than ever before in praying for our country and the frightening things happening all around us. Blessings to you, Debbie

Bless you for these scriptures.

Romans chapter one tells us that all will hear the gospel. God will prevail. I hope you have a beautiful Sunday.

Thanks for that post, Ginger. I would probably have gotten off just as you did. They don't want to hear us. I was thinking today about the atheist ( and the ACLU) who is offended by the cross at Mojave (hope I spelled it right)and trying to get it removed. They are the ones trying to remove God from our country. We can keep spreading the Word and hoping that their hearts will be touched.

We must be the Lord's hands and His feet. We must show the love of God to a lost and dying world. Love never fails.

I join you in your burden for the lost and like the scriptures you posted.

I don't understand how some one can not believe after seeing the wonder of His universe.
But, that is between them and God.

September 27, 2009 at 5:02 PM

we must be on the same subject as I wrote about preparing for judgement house and how the drama witnesses Gods atonement

Happy Sunday Ginger..
It is sad but true there are many who just refuse to believe. There was an article about how this nation has more non belivers than belivers. We truly need to keeep praying for this next generation and future generations. Thanks for you encouraging comment today.

Hi Ginger!
I attend church regularly and a lot of people in Illinois are losing jobs and our church is building a new church amougst all this bad economy and all I hear is tithing and giving and after awhile one thinks is it all about money -- scriptures say we cannot worship both. I will get off my soap box -- just know that some of us Love the Lord very much we just have a hard time getting past the monetary end of worshiping especially when we are facing hard times! Thanks for your insight! God Bless You!

We are called to be light and salt in this world. We need to take the Great Commission seriously. Lord, please fill us with your love & compassion, and move us into action!

Thanks for sharing all those Bible verses. Thanks also for visiting my blog.

Hello Dear Ginger,

We are living in a time when the heart of many are waxed cold. Many have eyes to see but see not, ears to hear but hear not. What is even more sad is these very people have become a god unto themselves and will not endure sound doctrine, so very sad. I continue to keep these in my prayers and plant as many little seeds as I can along the way. A beautiful post my friend. Thank you for sharing, enjoy a lovely week.

Smiles...

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. It is so true that we need to "set our minds on the things above and not on the things of the earth" (Col. 3:1-3) and remember how blessed we are in Christ.

I am hosting an online Bible study on the book of Eph. for MOMS. If you know of any who might be interested, point 'em our way. Blessings.

Ginger, it's already Wednesay so I don't know if you'll read this comment, but I wanted to leave one anyway, just so you will know that there are many of us out here that feel as you do. I've also come across some very ugly blogs, and my stomach became upset...I felt that I was staring in the face of evil. I've read all of the comments left before me, and I can't really add anything new, except to say that we are seeing prophecy fulfilled. I was thinking today that I once felt very good when I said I was a Christian, and now, it seems as though those words bring disdain. It breaks my heart to see people need the Lord so very much, only to watch their faces turn ugly at the mention of the name of Jesus. We are seeing evil look good, and love turn cold...I never thought I would see it, but here it is, and it will be worse as time goes on. We must speak boldly, witness to the lost, even though it may be unappreciated, or even dangerous, and proclaim the saving grace of Christ. but I would add that it is the Holy Spirit that leads us to witness, just as He led Peter, Paul and the others...sometimes they had a check in their spirit, so we must be discerning as well. God knows whom He has called, and they will hear the gospel, if not from one of us, then from somene else, at exactly the right time.

God bless you, Ginger. I was gone last week-end, but will be back on Sunday to read more and to contribute. I am so thankful for SS...its the one day of the week that I really look forward to.

Ginger, It seems here in this college town, that everyone has some sort of spiritual bumper sticker, but most are not Christian! I do believe there is a hunger for God, but people are not looking to Jesus Christ, God's Son.Thank you for your post and for Spiritual Sundays

Ginger,
Love the quotes.
It can be a scary step going forward to proclaim what we know as truth to those who choose to (with full purpose) turn their back on God and His truth/works/word/& love
You know what though??? never feel guilty about your initial reaction. Maybe this is a place that you were not quite ready to be ? Maybe God's plan is for you to go back later or maybe He doesnt have this venue planned for you at all.
Just remember that if you decide to go there it is the lions den, and their reaction is one we were told about in Matthew. How for HIM we will be hated and reviled.
In all fairness I have to be honest and say I avoid these places online like a plague!

Take care and God bless!
Joy

PS I really feel blessed by your blog
