Why is it?

Posted by Ginger~~Enchanting Cottage

For months now I have been taking glucosamine for my joints. The directions say to take 3 a day, well I manager to take about 1 every other day so for obvious reasons it does not work like it should. The other day I was reading about the MSM, it is a supplement that is in the bottle of glucosamine. Well this supplement is a sulphate and it makes your skin softer. So what have I been doing 3 times a day since I found this out, you guessed it, I take it 3 times a day . This is wrong for me to do this, I should of been taking it like this because of what my inside needed not just what people see on the outside. I feel like this about church, sure I go to church 3 times a week and it looks good on the outside, but what am I doing for the inside, for what God sees not man. I want God to see my heart and be proud, I want him to say well done my faithful servant.

Ohmygosh, how well said, sugar! As I sit here this morning at 6:15 AM thinking about church at 9 am and wondering if I'll just go to sacrament or stay for the other things. I get lazy with religion and spirituality at times but I still go to church. I know that is where I need to be. Thank you for the "uplift"!

Good observation Ginger. It is easy to become more concerned about the outside than the inside because the outside is what others see. It's good to remember that God looks on the heart, not the outward appearance.
I have taken a little glucosamine sparodically, but of course it does no good that way. I'll have to rethink this. My joints and skin can sure use some help. lol
Have a great day.

I believe that you're supposed to take a combination pill of Glucosamine Chrondroitin to obtain full effectiveness. I like how you tied it in to church. Thank you. Happy SS day.

Ginger,
You are SO right! It isn't what is on the outside that is important - it's what is on the inside! Thanks for this sweet posting.

I'm so in agreement with you, Ginger! I would like to hear the current president, or ANYBODY, for that matter, on television or radio recite some of these statements made by President Reagan - it would/should give us pause, to say the least. Better yet, if they would speak these things from their own hearts. Thanks for your comment, and thank you and Charlotte again for Spiritual Sunday - what a blessing it to so many! Together, we are and will stay strong in the Lord!

What a nice blog- something to think about.

Some of my most wonderful memories are when I would go to morning church, everyday, with my daughter when she was just a toddler. It made me feel good inside~ I wonder if she remembers??

It's what we feel inside~ very important with today's busy times.

Great analogy.. A great reminder to really check out if we are doing things for the right reason.
Happy Sundau and blessing for a beautiful week ahead.

What a great post. It's true that we don't always do the things we should for the reasons we should be doing them. However, once we start doing the right thing (like going to church or taking our vitamins) we reap all the benefits regardless of why we started. And, once we start to glean all new worlds are open to us. Half of the battle is just showing up.

Oh so true! Thanks for sharing this wonderful analogy.

Dear Ginger,
What a pleasure to meet you. My sister told me about you and Charlotte...I have already left a comment a couple of days ago at Charlotte's blog...My sister is Sherry at countrywingsinphoenix and I wanted to thank you for praying for my daughter Amy. She felt every prayer offered up for her.
I love your post...it is so true...we as christians, always fall short of what God has for us but then if we could be perfect on our own...we would have never needed JESUS, he would have shed his precious blood for nothing...how tragic would that be.
What an inspiration and blessing you are
I would like to participate in Spiritual Sunday----what do I do?

Ginger, you are nice and soft on the inside and on the outside. It shines right through, if only a person has the eyes to see.

God bless.

Ginger this is so true...many times we all do and say things for show. That is sad, but I guess it is part of life, but God and church should never fall into that catrgory.

Thanks for reminding me.

It is so easy to be a people pleaser. Thank you for challenging us to check our motivation.
