Slowing Down

Posted by Ginger~~Enchanting Cottage

Before I start my post today I want to tell my wonderful husband a Happy Birthday and I love you~~~

The last few months I have been doing something everyday, I have to hurry up to go to the next thing I have to do, or I should say I THINK I have to do. I don't want my life to be so busy. I feel distance from the Lord when I get so busy that I don't even have the time to pick up his word and read what he wants be to read. I'm the kind of person who likes to have the time to sit outside and just listen to the birds and not have to hurry up to go where I need to be next, life does not always go just that way. It is because of all of you that I have felt close to the Lord over the last few months, because of all of your scriptures, poems, songs and prayers that I have read. I just wanted to take the time today to say thank-you my friends!

Happy Birthday to your husband. Don't we all fall easily to the cares of this world? Thank you for reminding us to pause and take time for the Lord. Not only on Sundays, but every day of the week. God bless sister.

You nailed most of us on this one. We all need to SLOW down. Very few of us make time for meditation. As I get older I am finding more and more time for reflection and quiet time. You are an encouragement to me....Happy Birthday to Wayne!

Happy Birthday to your husband!
I know what you mean about being in such a hurry that I might slack up on spending time alone with the Lord. I too have been thinking about making sure that this doesn't happen for if it does I am the loser.

Thanks for this reminder Ginger, and thank you and Charlotte for hosting SS, I love getting up on Sunday morning early and coming to my computer and reading some post before going to church, and then coming home and spending sunday afternoon reading some more. I am always so blessed.

Ginger, we need to thank YOU for hosting, and we do!

I know what you're feeling because I feel it, too. But being able to take time and concentrate on the Lord is such a blessing. I love to read SS for that reason.

Your husband shares a birthday with my special little namesake (Cecelia Elizabeth... the Elizabeth part is for me). Today I decided to do a post to her on my blog, so that when she reads it tonight or even tomorrow with her Daddy, she will know she's loved.

And something tells me that your husband knows exactly how much he is loved by such a sweet and dear wife!

Happy Birthday to your hubby, Ginger... many happy returns!

XO,

Sheila :-)

Thank YOU Ginger for your faithfulness to host this every week. I think we can all agree that SS is a blessing to us all.
PS Happy Birthday to your sweet hubby!

Just about everybody needs to slow down in this hurry up world. Even being retired I find myself hurrying a lot. I really like the bird sounds on your blog. Happy Birthday to Wayne.
Hugs to you both.

I agree with you completely. I'm not a happy camper if I have to hurry around too much. Although life requires quite a bit of activity, I love the time when I can just contemplate God's creation and His plan for me. Keeps me recharged! Happy Birthday to your hubby. :)

You remind me of the verse, "Be still and know that I am God." Thanks for the reminder.

Oh yes, I too, need to sit and listen to the birds. Sometimes when I do, the other things seem silly.

So, thank you, too, for your spiritual Sunday posts!

Ginger, I find myself in the same boat as you lately. I am having a few problems making time to read my devotionals every day. I think I am going to have to slow down and make a conscious decision to pick up my Bible more often.

Happy birthday to Wayne from Harvey and I.

God bless.

I'm with you. I would rather be quiet and listen to the birds than rush to the next activity. The Lord has to be our priority when schedules get busy!

Hurry has been something the Lord has been convicting me of lately. That's why I posted Sitting At the Feet of Jesus on Sunday, out of sheer conviction.

Blessings.

We live in a busy world. I want to spend more time in the word too. I'll pray for you and you can pray for me.
