The last of the flowers in my garden

Posted by Ginger~~Enchanting Cottage

Here are some roses from my garden. I probable won't have to many more flowers before I cut them all back, so this is a nice surprise to have in our home.
The air is so bad outside because of the fires I kept my grandson home from school today. I will take him home about 4:00, I had to close all my windows it is so sad. My heart goes out to all of these families.

Love the fact that you still have roses in October. Ours have been gone for weeks now. We cut the bushes back about 3 weeks ago. I am trying to get some shape back to them as I let them go wild for a few years and now am paying for it with smaller blooms, and lots more thorns.

I have missed cutting them back a couple of times. When my daughter got married in our make yard I ask the man at the nursery how can I have roses in Oct.( 4 years ago )He said just cut them back just a bit in August and sure enough I had rose in October so I am not affraid to cut them down maybe to the 3rd 5 leaf area. Normaly I try to go to the 2nd 5 leaf to cut flowers for the house. Have a blessed day

Your roses are lovely. One day I will have rose bushes growing in my yard. Glad you are safe from the fires!

So sorry to hear about the air quality. I would have done the same, keeping my grandchildren home...

The flowers are a nice reminder of the beautiful things in life. What a lovely display holder.

My prayers are with all of you out there in CA, Ginger. I can't imagine what all of you are going through! I know that God will take care of you.

I have one single red rose on my climbing Don Juan~I'm sure it is the last for this year.

How pretty! Love the vase and the white pitchers in the background. Ginger, thank you for referring me to the blog in Denmark. I have enjoyed looking at the pics and you were right about me loving her things. Such fun to look at. Hope that your weekend is beautiful for you! xo, Becky

Beautiful flowers. Couldn't help but notice those pretty, white pitchers. I love 'em! I also like wall vases and yours are so pretty.
