Direction

I find the great thing in this world
is not so much where we stand, as
in what direction we are moving.
To reach the port of heaven, we
must sail sometimes with the wind
and sometimes against it, but we
must sail, and not drift nor lie at
anchor.

Oliver Wendell Holmes

Please stop by Spiritual Sunday to read some amazing blogs. These
men and women love to share their hearts and their love for the Lord.
Blessings,

How often I want to find a safe port from the way this world can blow me. I only need attach my sail to the Lord and I will reach my perfect destination. Beautiful quote.

Thank you Ginger! Beautiful post...beautiful quote. Patty! Yes! Attach our sail to the Lord, then we can't possibly drift away from heaven. With Jesus as our anchor in the storm, we also won't be tossed to and fro by waging winds. Blessings!

Hi Ginger,

Thank you for sharing a wonderful view and perspective from Oliver Wendell Holmes. For me, direction and purpose are interconnected. Without purpose, I've often lacked direction. My thanks to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ for giving me purpose and direction.

Blessings and peace.

So true. I wrote something similar on my blog about not giving in to failures. We must keep going forward because God always leads us on. Thanks, Ginger.

How true! We can't just sit on the fence and expect to grow in our Christian walk. We have to move, and then the Lord can direct us which way to go.
Thank you, Ginger, for that great quote.

Blessings,
Janis

Great post Ginger. We really do not do ourselves or God justice when we stick to the safety of the shore...

Yes, Ginger. This quote is right on. So easy to drift or stay in one place. I like to sail with the wind, but sailing against it with God as my pilot makes me grow.

Blessings!
