200 year old Oak Trees

Pearls for the Soul
By Richard Alan Naggar

When we long for life without difficulties,
 remind us that oaks grow
 strong in contrary winds,
 and diamonds are made under pressure
~~~~~
Good timber does not grow with ease.
The stronger the wind, the stronger
the tree.
Isaiah 41:10
10 So do not fear, for I am with you;
   do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
   I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
I hope that you have the time to visit Spiritual Sunday and read some very inspiring post. Also even if your not a part of Spiritual Sunday please stop by our Prayer blog and pray for those who have asked for prayers.
Great post today :) :) I LOVE that photo. Those tree branches are hanging so low, they 're practically touching the ground. Just beautiful :) :) Have a good weekend. Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)
I always need reminding that hard times can be good times—the Lord grows us up in them.
Hi Ginger,
The first word in my mind when I read this was, "Wow!" Now, I admit that it does not come close to expressing the thought conveyed by your post, it does express the honest, simplicity and impact it has upon me.
To realize that life does not exist without struggle, and strength of character is not built without adversity gives encouragement to those of us who face difficult circumstances.
It is God who watches over and extends grace to our lives. As a man, I have faced difficulties, but I've come to realize that others have faced far dire circumstances and proclaimed that God's grace "is sufficient".
Thank you so much for the reminder from Isaiah that God says, "I am with you...I am your God."
Blessings and peace.
God's pearls are the best of all, aren't they? Love the picture of the sheltering tree. "The stronger the wind, the stronger the tree." Love that!
Thanking God for the wind...
Oh, how close this is to what I posted about the harsh weather that God uses to produce magnificent beauty. And how He can use the harsh circumstances in our lives to produce His splendor.
WOW! The Holy Spirit is inspiring many to post on this similar topic.
Sunday blessings to you,
Janis
I've grown the most during great difficulites. So why do I fight them when they come? We do just need to trust in God's strength.
