Garden Gates

Posted by Ginger~~Enchanting Cottage

I am so intrigued with garden gates, I'm not quite sure why I thinks it's the mystery of what is on the other side, what kind of pretty flowers are blooming and what old english roses do they have, and if they have any garden moss.

I hope you imagine going threw this gates just like I did.

What I wouldn't give for one of those beautiful wrought iron gates. So far Harvey has only put a gate into the back fence. I want one leading down the side of the house. Hmmm, could be his job this summer.

I would love to have a back yard retreat with lovely gates to walk thru!

Good morning, Sweet Ginger...
There must be something about garden gates because I just love them, too. I would LOVE to have a beautiful gate leading into a beautiful, secret garden...how romantic. Thanks so much for sharing these lovely pictures with us.
As to my time of getting up...sometimes I am awake by 4 or
5, sometimes I stay up until 1 or 2 and sleep later but my normal time is around 6.
I, too, am planning on doing a black bed and green walls in my guest room. I am hoping to get started on it soon. I can't wait to see a picture of yours when you get it all finished.
I love your sweet blog, too and look forward every morning to visiting with you.
hugs, bj

Beautiful. Boy, we sure do have similar taste in all things beautiful. I think part of the lure is the popularity of the Secret Garden. My teacher read that story to the class when I was in about the 4th grade. I'm sure that affected my attitude toward gardens and gates.
Have a great day!

Ginger,
The garden gates are so interesting...I have an old, old, wooden garden gate from an ancient house that was being demolished....Betty

Oh I do love garden gates too! They facinate and delight all at the same time. I just made a folder of pics of garden gates to use in posts. I long for the day when my gardens are growing and we can put in gates. We moved into our new cottage only 17mos. ago and our yard was just flat dirt...lots of work and waiting. We now have lawn, pear, plum, redwood, magnolia, lemon, and birch, japanese maple trees, 3 raised beds, roses, lavender, camilla's,birdbaths and an arbor. Someday we will have cobblestone paths, garden gates, many arbors, birdbaths, sitting benches, hammock, garden shed, and many many more roses and flowers.

Those do look inviting, don't they? Oh and I made a comment the other day on your white beds---I forgot I actually have a bed with a white spread!!! tooo funnnnnny. I had to go with white for my son who is in college--he uses stuff on his face that bleaches everything out!!

Hi Ginger,
Just stopping by to say hello...I feel so out of it with everything that has gone on this past year. I have to tell you, I have that first picture, of the little girl looking in the gate, done by an artist on canvas. I fell in love with it when I saw it in an antique store and have had it ever since (many many years now)
I hope everything is going well with you and I want you to know I think of you often.
Love and Hugs, Amy

Hi Ginger, I love the pictures you chose, in particular the one of the arch way with iron gates, one side open and sunshine streaming through... I was sondering where you got that photo from and if you know where it is for sale? If you do, i would really apprecaite you emailing me at shane@lifeonpurposecoaching.net as i would like to use it as an inspirational and symbolic picture in my life coaching office!
Thanks for you help!
God Bless
