Time To Grow

Posted by Ginger~~Enchanting Cottage

When our first grandson was a toddler one of his favorite places to eat was McDonald's, I didn't think he would every grow out of McDonald's. He is now 7 and his favorite place to eat is In and Out. He has matured  enough to know that In and Out has a much better hamburger and is more filling, and satisfying  than McDonald's. McDonald's was good and had it's purpose but time changes things. I feel like the church we go to is like a McDonald's and we need to mature into a In and Out.  we need to grow and were not growing because nobody likes McDonald's anymore, they want In and Out.

Our church is having a meeting tomorrow the second one of two, please pray for this meeting and our church. We are loosing good families and are not getting any new families, our church has stopped growing. I apologize for the analogy of a hamburger place compared to our church but as serious as this matter is I thought it was the best way  I could explain. Thank-you for your prayers for our church.

singing birds           Please stop by Spiritual Sunday and read some amazing post, I promise you they all don't talk about McDonald's and In and Outs.

Treasure in Nature

Sunset with flowers in the foreground.

If we are children of God,we have
a tremendous treasure in nature
and will realize that it is holy and
sacred. We will see God reaching
out to us in every wind that blows,
every sunrise and sunset, every
cloud in the sky, every flower that
blooms, and every leaf that fades.

I found this poem in a book that I have called Stories for a Kindred Heart. This is one of those books that you just start reading all the different stories. It's by Alice Gray @ Barbara Baumcardner.

We do not understand:
Joy..until we face sorrow
Faith..until it is tested
Peace..until faced with conflict
Trust..until we are betrayed
Love..until it is lost
Hope..until confronted with doubts

Jesus loved his mom and wanted to make sure that she would be taken care of before he died.

John 19:26-27 When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son!” (27) Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” And from that hour the disciple took her to his own home.
I hope that all you mom's have a wonderful day with all your families. Please visit Spiritual Sundays there are so many great post to read. They may help in your path to learn more about our Lord.

Mentors

April 30,2011

I had wrote out a post yesterday but decided that it was not what I wanted to blog about, have you ever changed your mine like that? This post is on my heart today so I hope that you don't mind me telling you a little story. Yesterday my husband and I went to a memorial for a could that past away at out church. Bernie, the wife past away April 15 of last year, the husband Joe, past away April 10,of this year.Bernie was 85 and Joe was 88,they were married for 65 years. They didn't have a memorial for Bernie last year because Joe just had surgery and was recovering. Joe never did recover and went to be with the Lord a year later. This couple was such a mentor to my husband and I,they will be missed enormously. Bernie had host many tea party's  in her time and I was blessed to be able to host one with her, I will always cherish that day. For the last 5 years of Bernie's life  was confined  in a wheel chair because of a stroke, Joe was a devoted husband and took care of her. Joe had broke his hip and had to go be in a rehabilitation hospital, when he was there he had no one to take care of Bernie so he paid for her to have a room at that same rehabilitation center.Bernie had to be on the other side of the center since she was not a patient. She would visit him daily driving down the halls in her wheel chair. It was while she was there that she had another stoke that took her life. Joe was more than ready
to be with his Lord and his wife, they will both be missed. I wanted to plant a rose bush in memory of Bernie, I came across one with the name Elegant Lady, that's the one, that's the rose bush I will plant at our church in memory of this elegant women. She was known for always having just the right jewelry on to match what  outfit she had on. After she had past away Joe ask me if I wanted some of her costume jewelry, her jewelry box was as tall as my dresser. Joe laughed and said he never really realized how much money she spent on jewelry or how many cloths she had.

Dear Lord thank-you for bring this couple into my life, Bernie was a Proverbs women for sure and has taught me many things, and Joe who was a carpenter has fixed a thing or two at our home not to mention hundred's of things at church and at many homes of the people in our church. I will miss them both until the day comes when we meet again.
It's in your name Lord Amen

Please visit Spiritual Sunday today there are so many beautiful hearts that share there each week about Jesus.

Before There was SUNDAY There was FRIDAY

I was not there, but I can feel the chills in my body,  I can  feel the earth move, I can  here the rumble in the sky. The pain that the Lord went through for you and me.
Jesus had told his disciples and friends that he would rise after 3 days, they  wanted to believe him because they loved him. Three days after Jesus was crucified he indeed raised  from the dead.

Heavenly father,
My words alone can not express my love for you ,my words alone will never be able to thank-you enough.
I pray that my heart and actions show how grateful I am for you and how much I love you,Thank-you Lord for dieing for me so that I can live with you in eternity.
Amen

This would be a perfect weekend to visit Spiritual Sunday

Shipwrecked
In the day of my trouble I will call you,
for you will answer me.
Psalm 86:7

It is the trail of our faith that is precious. If we go through the trail,
there is so much wealth laid up in our heavenly bank account
to draw upon when the next test comes.
